Xenea participated as a grant partner in WaveHack Global, a Web3 accelerator program organized by AKINDO, which held a demo day in Japan on August 28, 2024. This initiative is part of Xenea's ecosystem expansion strategy.

Purpose behind joining WaveHack Global

Our decision to join WaveHack Global was based on our belief of the program's approach of continuous development support directly leading to sustainable project development and ecosystem growth. By providing long-term support to the developer community, we will accelerate the development of next-generation Web3 applications and bring innovative projects into the Xenea ecosystem. This strategic partnership is an important step toward realizing our vision of a truly inclusive infrastructure that can be inherited and sustained for generations to come.

Through this strategic partnership, we aim to strengthen the Xenea blockchain ecosystem and contribute to the overall development of the Web3 industry.

Competition Entries

Given the pre-launch stage of the public mainnet, we focused on developing basic applications that are essential to the mainnet's operation rather than advanced products. Under the theme “Build a Xenea dApp,” we solicited product development including integration into existing utilities, launchpads, DeFi, and domain services for the Xenea blockchain.

The initiative received a great response, with 106 applications received through all 10 rounds. We received a diverse set of products that met our expectations and distributed grants totaling $10,000. It is worth noting some projects continued to develop over multiple Waves. After Round 7, only projects with sustainable development remained and continued to receive high quality applications. These products received high marks from our six-member jury of project and community members.

This article highlights four products receiving particularly high remarks. They were selected for their importance in the early stages of the Xenea blockchain, for their design that takes advantage of Xenea's unique characteristics, and for their contribution to the expansion of the community. These products form the foundation of the Xenea ecosystem and are expected to contribute significantly to its future development.

XeneaDomainNameService

XeneaDomainNameService is a name service which converts long addresses (e.g., those starting with 0x) into short, simple formats (e.g., xenea.xcr). This makes it easier to use the Xenea blockchain. Xenea domains are issued as ERC721 NFTs.

In the latter half of WaveHack Global, the product's functionality was expanded through collaboration with Central Data Hub and Xenea-Indexer, which also entered the competition.

Central Data Hub

Central Data Hub (CDH) is an NFT contract which manages all kinds of data collectively on the Xenea blockchain.

NFTs used on platforms such as Ethereum typically store only limited metadata such as "name", "description", and "image". This has limited the range of NFT applications.

CDH expands NFT metadata and enables the management of various data through ERC6551 NFTs. Additionally, our Xenea blockchain DACS (Decentralized Autonomous Contents Storage) brings diversity to the data that can be managed on-chain.

HyperFi

HyperFi is a DeFi aggregator aiming for financial inclusion by providing a user-friendly platform to access DeFi solutions.

HyperFi takes a user-centric approach, functioning as an aggregator that scans all exchanges and provides a list of APYs (Annual Percentage Yields) from all exchanges. It uses the power index of each exchange to help users decide where to stake/invest their funds.

Xenea Gated Discord Bot

The Xenea Gated Discord Bot grants roles to users who hold specific NFTs or a certain quantity of ERC20 tokens on the Xenea testnet/mainnet, facilitating secure and exclusive access to server channels.

This bot can be installed on any Discord server and can be configured with custom tokens and roles.

WaveHack Global WebX FINAL DEMODAY Atmosphere

WaveHack Global's DEMODAY was held in conjunction with WebX, a Web3 conference held in Japan on August 28, 2024.

Xenea's keynote speaker, Founder Tokuro Uhara, gave an overview of Xenea and its future strategy.

XeneaDomainNameService and HyperFi, who were available to speak on the day, demonstrated their products.

At XeneaDomainNameService, the author being mashharuki, introduced the motivation behind the development of XeneaDomainNameService, its features, and plans for future updates.

At HyperFi, author salmandev02 took the stage online to introduce a simplified interface for users and the ability to offer users a variety of investment strategies.

Closing Remarks

Through the WaveHack Global hackathon, the Xenea blockchain gained entries from 106 fantastic projects. Many of these projects aim to deploy on the public mainnet, marking an important step towards further development of the Xenea ecosystem.

This remarkable achievement is the result of the efforts of AKINDO, who planned and managed the hackathon, as well as the builders who worked enthusiastically on their projects. We extend our heartfelt gratitude to everyone involved.

Moving forward, Xenea will continue to actively work on expanding its ecosystem through hosting its own hackathons and participating in accelerator programs like WaveHack Global.
