Interim Report on Migration Issues for XENEA Wallet 2.0 (as of June 6th, 2025)

We released XENEA Wallet 2.0 on May 28, 2025. Shortly thereafter, the community reported multiple issues related to the migration process during the upgrade. This article provides an update on the situation, detailing the main causes identified and the countermeasures taken as of June 6, 2025. If you wish to review the previous report as of May 30, please see the previous update linked here.

Confirmed Issues and Countermeasures

Issue 1 – PIN is rejected when restoring with a QR code

Cause:

Most reports involve users scanning the Address QR Code instead of the dedicated Backup QR Code that is generated under Settings -> Backup / Retrieve.

How to resolve:

  1. In the XENEA Wallet app open Settings -> Backup / Retrieve and display the Backup QR Code.

  2. Start the restore flow again and enter your PIN.

  3. Follow the on-screen steps until the wallet is recovered.

Reference guides:

Issue 2 – Tokens that were sent do not appear in the wallet

Cause:

By default, XENEA Wallet only shows major tokens; assets outside of that list must be added manually.

How to resolve:

  1. From the Wallet tab choose Import Token -> Custom token.

  2. Paste the token’s contract address into Token contract address, tap Next, then Import.

Example (ETH on BNB Chain):

  1. Search “ETH” on BSCScan (https://bscscan.com/).

  2. Open Binance-Peg Ethereum Token and copy 0x2170Ed0880ac9A755fd29B2688956BD959F933F8.

  3. Paste it into XENEA Wallet and import.

Next step (in progress):

We are expanding the built-in token list so that the most common assets appear automatically.

Issue 3 – “Error 403: disallowed_useragent” when signing-in with Google

Cause:

On Android, certain privacy-focused browsers prevent Google’s OAuth window from completing. The system then returns the 403 error. Browsers frequently involved: Brave, DuckDuckGo, Firefox Focus, Firefox (Strict mode), Tor, Opera Mini.

Workaround:

Set one of the following as your default browser before logging in:

  • Google Chrome (recommended)

  • Samsung Internet

  • Microsoft Edge

  • Firefox (default settings)

Issue 4 –  Shards of a private key might not have been stored correctly on the server during wallet creation

Status:

Resolved (server-side fix deployed). No further user action required.

Issue 5 – Forgot PIN

Solution:

Log out, then restore the wallet with your local file or cloud backup. During restoration you will be prompted to set a new PIN.

Issue 6 – Forgot answers to secret questions

Answers are case-sensitive. If you still cannot recall them, please initiate a wallet regeneration from the Backup QR Code flow.

Issue 7 – An unfamiliar secret question is displayed

In every reproducible case so far, the questions ultimately matched what the user set during initial setup. If your situation differs, contact the team on Discord and include the secret question you expected to see.
